The bowls are great, of course, they're made by Pyrex. I love that they come with lids. I bought my Pyrex bowls back when they used to sell the multicolor sets. They were great--I've used them for mixing, storing, microwaving and baking and they've held up well.
I wouldn't buy these new ones though. The Pyrex items that I bought for my daughter, I'm asking her to toss those and I'm looking for something safer to replace them.
I'll buy her something different but it won't be Pyrex. No more Corelle, no more CorningWare and no more Anchoring Hocking, either, for that matter.
I am not usually militant about a product--I normally feel of course companies will try to make the most money they can and consumers should try to do their homework and make good choices.
But I am highly upset that the company has not addressed a very widespread problem with their products exploding when heated. Some people have experienced injuries, yet somehow, the company has gotten away with not recalling any products. They have simply added to their warning label in an attempt to cover themselves.
For this reason, I won't be buying any more from a company that is willing to take the customers' money but doesn't seem to care at all that they are selling a dangerous product.
