This thermometer is excellent, especially at it's very low price. I know some others are complaining that 3-5 seconds is not instant.. but, what about instant oatmeal? That takes 3-5 minutes. Instant just means you will get the temp within a few seconds rather than a few minutes. Works great, don't get it wet.
Description of Pyrex Large Display Digital Instant Read Thermometer
Reads from -50 to +392 degrees F or -45 to +200 degrees CAccurate to a tenth of a degree, this Pyrex digital thermometer takes the guesswork out of cooking by temperature. Made with a durable stainless-steel probe, the tool has an easy-to-read display that delivers readings from -50 to 392 F (-45 to 200 C) with a one-second delay. The plastic storage case doubles as a perpendicular holder so you can keep your fingers away from the heat source. It also includes an apron clip and a basic temperature guide for cooking meat. Simple buttons turn the power on and off and switch between Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Pyrex includes an extra battery. --Emily Bedard
