Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pyrex Bakeware 6-Ounce Clear Custard Cups, Set of 4Customer Review: Perfect little kitchen helper Summary: 5 StarsI bought a dozen of these from another retailer (at half price) and I love them! They are perfect for everything that requires a small size container. I use the cups to beat two eggs, melt butter, heat up baby food (never heat food in any plastic), to serve ketchup or other condiments, store a small amount of leftovers, etc. By using the appropriately sized cup, I save a lot of space in both the fridge and the dishwasher. I recommend these highly.
Customer Review: be careful Summary: 3 StarsI found these at Bed bath and Beyond for $4.99 for a set of four. Printed on it says not to place in broiler, oven, and stove top. So the original price Amazon has it for is overpriced
Customer Review: This is my second set of Pyrex Custard Cups ... Summary: 5 Stars... and I don't even make Custard! *LOL* I just love these for small servings of ice cream, fruit, side dishes, etc. They are great with meals for anything that you don't want to mix with the other foods on your plate. They are perfect for snacks and desserts. They are great for things such as pickles, olives, chopped onions, relish, dips, etc. on a casual buffet or picnic table. They also work well for pre-portioning ingredients when making a complicated recipe or allowing younger kids to cook with you. The typical Pyrex glass which is thick and a bit heavy is perfect for my family because it holds up to less than gentle everyday use. I still want my children to learn to be careful with china and glassware, but I see no reason to be too 'precious' about everday dishware.
Customer Review: Prepped and ready to go! Summary: 5 StarsMise en place is the French term for having all your ingredients prepped and ready to go before starting you start cooking. This technique is so important for proper cooking and these dishes really help you break that old habit of cooking and prepping at the same time. I use them to pre-measure all my spices, juices, liquids, etc. so that I don't have to be rushing around the kitchen as things are burning wishing that I had everything ready.
Of course, if you just want them to make serve pudding, they're the perfect size for that too!
Customer Review: good small sizes Summary: 4 StarsI have these but my only drawback is that they don't come with covers. I've made puddings, desserts or whatever and then you have to use saran to cover them and it's not easy trying to put a small piece of saran wrap on it without covering the whole dish, as they are small dishes. Not a total bad thing but covers would make these a 5 stars for me. They are perfect for small leftovers, using for prep food meals, or for little kids to put snacks in. They are not heavy as I agree with the previous reviewer. They are good quality but again....needs covers.
